current inspirations and a chair find

Some current inspirations that I have been glossing over lately, scanned from old clippings of Dwell from the previous year.  I've also started redecorating the kids room and with luck and patience I finally found the perfect matching vintage brass beds this past weekend.

Another amazing score was this modern bright yellow chair. The base looks like spider feet don't they? This chair will be on my next sale over at Fab.com next month.

treasury inspiration

It seems like 99 percent of convos in my inbox consists of treasury notifications. I try my best to comment but mostly I quickly open the links and move on, but on some occassion I get very inspired with some of the beautifully curated treasuries such as this one enough to create a blogpost out of it.

I am lusting over one (or three) of these George Nelson bubble lamps. I want to put one by the foyer and one on my dining area.  I spy a couple on an upcoming auction. I can't wait!

WIP

Inspiration struck yesterday and I gathered and cleaned some vintage frames and had the kids sat on the table to sort my vintage stamps by colors (btw, if anyone have somekind of a sorting job call my kids, they'll do it for free).

I've finished a few collages and should have them listed next week.

inspiration Friday

I took these photos from my front yard yesterday after the rain stopped.  We've been having lots of April showers here in Seattle as of late and I love it; there's nothing like the distinctive fresh smell after the rain, and the pretty flower buds popping everywhere this time of year. I'm looking forward to do a little bit of gardening this weekend.

Happy Friday!

inspiration Friday

With all the vases I have laying around the house, I think I'll treat myself to a buoquet of roses this weekend and scatter them around like this on my window sill.  Doesn't this photo look dreamy?

bookshelf porn

Ok, I'll admit that I tend to hang on to my books forever.  Unlike clothes or housewares, it's really hard for me to donate my old books; I still have my textbooks from college!

When I discovered this site showcasing all the books and bookshelves I thought I'd share it here and maybe we can all dream of finding that cute and unique bookshelf or better yet make our own pretty bookshelves to house our collections.

the last photo is just a reminder to read more books than blogs... but please don't stop reading my blog :)

Factory 20

Though they're probably been blogged many times I'm still posting some of their photos here for inspiration. I just adore the photography on their website, and the dusty bottles as photo props is so genius! It looks like it's been sitting there for a hundred years and was finally discovered and captured in photograph.

So, if you're on a hunt for that one-of-a-kind-out-of-this-world collection of vintage industrial objects, their website if full of that; that is if money is no object to you.

DK general store

Just came upon this Etsy shop the other day and I just love the rusted and crusted vintage hardwares they have listed in their shop; and the item photos are gorgeous!

how to really love a child

I really like this a lot, found this image here, but wonder if there's a print for sale somewhere. What a great reminder...
