current inspirations and a chair find

Some current inspirations that I have been glossing over lately, scanned from old clippings of Dwell from the previous year.  I've also started redecorating the kids room and with luck and patience I finally found the perfect matching vintage brass beds this past weekend.

Another amazing score was this modern bright yellow chair. The base looks like spider feet don't they? This chair will be on my next sale over at Fab.com next month.

instant collection: small lidded treasure boxes

I am a sucker for teeny but pretty small boxes, so when I saw these lot on yesterday's auction I just have to have them.  I might stare at them for a few days or weeks and then list them in the shop.

weekend finds; lamps lamps lamps

Hello everyone! guess what I found this weekend at the auction, bubble lamps, footstool, and more lamps!

I won two Nelson lamps; this larger one was really soiled but I managed to cleaned it using a little bit of dish soap with warm water and a sponge, most of the dirt came off and then I hang it outside to dry.  Quick tip on cleaning this, is that you don't want to get it too wet and don't rub it too hard, though the surface is hard it does have a rough texture that looks like a cardboard paper and it's very fragile.

This smaller pendant I got for only $10 but it is in bad condition and I didn't try to clean it yet, also it has a couple of tears which I don't think is repairable. I'm thinking of taking the shade off and repurposing it as cage lamp.

oh and the rattan footstool- this is the second one I found in a year and so excited to have found another one at a great price!

Happy Monday!

hello sunshine

The auction this weekend was fierce.  Lots of competition with the same interest on things I really want  and everything pretty much went too high above my set budget.  I didn't find any vases, nor small knick knacks but I won a few big pieces of furnture; three tile top tables, a teak dining table, two chairs, an office cabinet and a few table lamps.  Here are a few smaller items I came home with and will be listing them this week.

On other note, today is very sunny, I felt compelled to spend it outside rather than in my office. What to do?

Hope you have an equally sunny Monday morning!

the hanging chair

I've seen them everywhere- the hanging chair, the epitome of all relaxation chair. I'd like to imagine myself curled up on one of this enjoying a glass of ice tea reading my favorite book while gently swinging and taking in the sweet gentle breeze in my patio.

Well, I recently found this awesome rattan hanging chair at an auction and would have hang it in my house if only I have enough room but alas no room, too much mismatched chairs sitting around and two feisty kiddos just quashed my daydreaming alltogether.
