...a new pair of burnt orange coloured shoes, from clearance section at Nordstrom rack!
(photo by my little boy who's very eager to shoot, not too bad I'd say. I really need to buy one of those wireless remote clicker thingy for my camera one of these days...)

30 days of happiness: 4
...strolling at the farmer's market on a nice Saturday morning;
...enjoying the most colourful fresh flower arrangements;
...seeing all the fresh local produce and fruits and buying probably more than what we can consume before they start to spoil;
...having raspberries for brunch (lots of raspberries!)
~and dreaming up an old ethnic recipe for these pretty flowers.

30 days of happiness: 3
...opening the blinds, looking out on my kitchen window in the morning and seeing the trees, squirrels running on the branches, a bluejay or two on a great sunny day, the quiet peacefulness of the scenery; and suddenly tackling the big pile of crusty dishes left from last night's dinner doesn't feel so much like a chore anymore.

...dancing with my kids with no abandon to the tune of Lady Ga-ga's "p-p-p-p-p-p-poke her face" (Sofia's version) from my favorite noontime show.

going back to school vintage style
Yay! The kids are going back to school in a couple of weeks! Sorry if I sounded a little excited there. But I think they are also getting excited too, I have been talking a lot about school lately, going to bed early and getting up early, less TV time, etc.
So with the back-to-school season, I thought I'd put together some new and old thrift finds that I've accumulated this summer. Some will be listed in the shop and some I may keep.

new non-vintage category: 30 days of happiness
I will be adding a non-vintage category on this blog called "30-days of happiness". I decided to join Erin of bluebirdbaby to share some snapshots of my little life, love, and happiness for 30 days, you can join too if you want, it should be fun!

flowery finds
Mikasa plates
wall display rack with floral wall paper
set of drinking glasses and decanter with yellow flowers in excellent condition.
and this cute pair of Bastad Troentorp clogs with colourful daisis in 37, too bad it's not my size it would make a great quirky colourful accent to any outfit. (I also found a red pair in 37 not pictured here)
If you're interested in any of these item, email me and I can list them here for you. Thanks!

weekend
we had a gorgeous weather on Saturday perfect for a barbeque picnic at our favorite park to celebrate hubby's birthday. The kids enjoyed of course.
Jovan and Sofia
I prepared a few of his favorite dishes; korean barbeque, enchilada, spanish rice, beans and shrimp ceviche and some carne asada. I didn't get around to making some cupcakes, but he had a big homemade chocolate cake that his daughter brought for the party.
and because he's rather private, this is the only photo he approved for me to post here; with his cute 1 year old granddaughter Reina.

guilty pleasure
cream cheese pasty from Panera Bread
Starbuck's strawberry and creme
stationary with bird prints, I have accumulated a lot and just like to keep them in a box, take them out and look at them from time to time...
these are recently thrifted for $1 at my favorite thrift store...
cute girl apparel for my little girl, just got these in the mail yesterday (from ebay)
this Cakewalk floral dress is a bit big for her but maybe just right by Thanksgiving...
bright pink Flapdoodle pants, she put them on yesterday and didn't want to take them off.
In my defense I would never buy them brand new, I always prowl ebay or consignment stores for the best deals...now if I can only find time to make some dresses from my mountain of vintage fabrics (sigh)
